What we record, and what we don’t

Last updated 1 September 2026 · Metrifer is operated by PJA Solutions LLC, Illinois, USA.

This page is written to be read, not to be clicked past. It covers three different things, and they have genuinely different answers: the marketing site, the demo, and the product itself.

The website (metrifer.com)

No analytics, no cookies, no tags, no fonts loaded from anyone else. The page you are reading is a single static file. Our servers keep ordinary web logs for a short period to keep the site running and to spot abuse.

The demo (demo.metrifer.com)

The demo asks for your work email and company before it opens. We use that to know who has looked at the product, and we record what you do inside the demo so that if we follow up we already know what you cared about. That is the whole purpose, and we would rather say it plainly here than bury it.

What we record

What we never record

Nothing you type, and nothing any document says.

No keystrokes. No form field values. No session replay or screen recording. No invoice contents, no extracted figures, no account numbers, no service addresses. This is enforced in the code by an allow-list of what an event is permitted to contain, not by a policy we intend to follow. The invoices in the demo are the utilities’ own published sample bills and the company in it is fictional, so there is nothing of anyone’s in there to read in the first place.

We also load no third-party trackers, anywhere. No Google Analytics, no advertising pixels, no Hotjar or similar. The demo is served under a content-security policy that makes an external script or an off-site request technically impossible, not merely disallowed.

Your IP address

We store your IP address only as a keyed one-way hash, never as the address itself. We use it for exactly one thing: recognising that a browser returning to the demo has already been let in, so you are not asked for your email a second time. That recognition expires after 90 days. Because the stored value is a hash, our records cannot be turned back into a list of addresses.

Be aware of the practical consequence: many companies present a single shared address to the internet, so a colleague on the same network may reach the demo without entering an email. The demo contains only fictional sample data, so nothing of yours is exposed by this.

Invitation links

If we sent you a link containing a code, that code tells us which outreach the visit came from. It can be forwarded and used by colleagues, which we expect. It is not a password and it protects nothing.

How long we keep it

WhatKept for
Your private demo sandbox and anything you did inside it30 days, then deleted
The hash that lets your network back in90 days
Your contact details and the record of which parts you used24 months

The product (app.metrifer.com)

Customer data is a different matter and is governed by the agreement with that customer, not by this page. Two points are worth stating here because they are the design of the system rather than a promise about it:

There is no product analytics in the customer application. Everything described in the demo section above applies to the demo host only.

Who else sees any of this

We do not sell, rent, or share this information, and we do not use it for advertising. It is held in our own database on Amazon Web Services in the United States and used by us to run the product and to decide who to follow up with. AWS hosts it; nobody else receives it.

Having it deleted

Email contact@metrifer.com and ask. We will delete your demo record, everything we logged about your visit, and your sandbox, and confirm when it is done. You do not need to give a reason, and there is no form.

If you would rather look at the product without giving us an email at all, the browser-only tool runs entirely on your own machine and sends us nothing.

Changes

If we change what we record, we will change this page and move the date at the top. We will not quietly start collecting something this page says we do not.
